So, this will be a short and sweet (I’m hoping) entry on tips for bedding on a budget. I am obsessed with white bedding and have been for quite a while. I’m sure some of you can relate, every time I scroll through the bedding on *insert fantastic but outrageous home store here* once you get everything you need to complete your dream bedding, you may need to consider taking out a loan. But, I’m here to tell you…Do not get discouraged. Gorgeous, magazine worthy bedding on a budget IS possible!
I’ll let you in on a little secret in case you aren’t already a believer. AMAZON. AMAZON. AMAZON. Amazon.com is the way I maximize the majority of my decorating budget, and most other areas of my finances as well. You can get ANYTHING on Amazon. You can get your sheets, duvet, throw pillows, blankets etc. Not only can you shop around for the better deal, but you can read REAL reviews from REAL costumers. I have found the reviews to be extremely helpful when buying pretty much anything I’m not sure about. Also, if you’re a Prime Member ($100 a year) you get free 2-day shipping on anything marked as Prime (which is basically everything). Another great thing about buying on Amazon and mix and matching your bedding in general is you get a super unique look that no one else will have. I don’t want this to sound like a paid ad for Amazon (hehe) but I can’t stress enough the great deals you can get for home décor!
For me, once I got the foundation of my bedding taken care of on Amazon I had room in my budget to get a few extras to really add in the wow factor. Another place I love to shop is Etsy.com. So, I ordered a few handmade striped Euro shams and it really helped it all come together!
If you’re doing white bedding, don’t forget to add dimension. I like to mix textures. My duvet is sort of a seersucker material, then I did some faux fur and a quilt. Also, I love different shades of white. My sheets are off white, as well as my faux fur throw pillows and blanket. My duvet cover and some of the euro shams are a true white. I love the way that looks. Don’t be afraid to mix it up.
All in all, I spent about $275 on my bedding.
Good Luck! I would love to see what you come up with!
